Kids on the Sand
Candlestick maker and the city king,
Listen to the fax and the telephone ring,
Cat and dog and computer games,
PC technology, financial gains,
Your man’s in the office, he’s out in his car,
He’s clawing his way to the suit and cigar,
He’s put out the fire, he’s picked up his pen,
But his children are left alone again,
Why don’t you play with the kids on the sand?
A seminar fiesta, a conference chain,
All the best products are back here again,
We’ll sell them our paper, our ribbons and disks,
With a view to reducing workload risks,
The post is essential, the banks can smile,
The manager sitting, the assistants file,
The captain looks up with pride at his men,
But his children are left alone again,
Why don’t you play with the kids on the sand?
The rep speeds up to avoid a fine,
Make sure the papers are signed on time,
Shaking hands, the final seal,
Securing up that precious deal,
And if by chance he stops to think,
About his shares all index linked,
Would he realise while playing this game,
That his children are left alone again?
Why don’t you play with the kids on the sand?

A very personal and "from the heart" release. Beautifully recorded with vibes of meditation. Mesmerising - great production too. Very unique. Nothing to compare it with. Ra Rising

Billed as the masters of symphonic prog this album is an interesting of styles and influences. Folky in parts, rocky in others.
Vocals are good and male for a change. Both lyrics and music are involving and all in all this album is a good listen.
I will be looking at The Gift's other offerings. Russell Whyman
