Matter of the Heart
A matter of the heart.
It’s something that’s been driving me insane,
Should I tell you I feel this heartache’s for real,
Or say something in a similar vein?
Never went to heart school, nor checked out the rules,
How do I finish the task?
You cause my heartburn, I’m desperate to learn,
But which auricle should I ask?
Why didn’t you drive a stake through my heart?
I’m to blame for these years we’ve spent apart,
The past is never over but if only you knew,
I only want to be with you,
A matter of the heart,
Why did I drop our future down in the dust?
You showed me the way and now I curse that day,
When I was head over heels in lust,
I should have kept my nerve, ‘cos love is a verb,
I failed you voted with your feet,
Looking back at my youth, I’ve realised the truth,
And my heart just keeps on missing a beat,
Why didn’t you drive a stake through my heart?
I’m to blame for these years we’ve spent apart,
The past is never over but if only you knew,
I only want to be with you,
Why didn’t you drive a stake through my heart?
I’m to blame for these years we’ve spent apart,
The past is never over but if only you knew,
I only want to be with you.

A very personal and "from the heart" release. Beautifully recorded with vibes of meditation. Mesmerising - great production too. Very unique. Nothing to compare it with. Ra Rising

Billed as the masters of symphonic prog this album is an interesting of styles and influences. Folky in parts, rocky in others.
Vocals are good and male for a change. Both lyrics and music are involving and all in all this album is a good listen.
I will be looking at The Gift's other offerings. Russell Whyman
