The Real World
You call yourself a poor man’s friend but that ain’t how you’re seen,
You’ll furnish us with fancy smiles but your show offs not for me,
There’s thirty years between us baby yeah, but what you say it makes no sense,
You just write off my protest as a line on your expense,
How many times will you stay?
Do you not read the polls?
You can’t fool everyone all of the time with your back against the wall,
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you,
Just keep me in my place,
It isn’t true to think you’re through with the human race,
This is the real world,
This is the real world,
A million marched on London just to make you understand,
You ignored the people’s voices said we’d have blood on our hands,
I wonder how you see yourself relevant for modern times,
That mad reflection in your eyes belongs to a mastermind,
How many times will you stay?
Do you not read the polls?
You can’t fool everyone all of the time with your back against the wall,
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you,
Just keep me in my place,
It isn’t true to think you’re through with the human race,
This is the real world,
This is the real world.

A very personal and "from the heart" release. Beautifully recorded with vibes of meditation. Mesmerising - great production too. Very unique. Nothing to compare it with. Ra Rising
Billed as the masters of symphonic prog this album is an interesting of styles and influences. Folky in parts, rocky in others.
Vocals are good and male for a change. Both lyrics and music are involving and all in all this album is a good listen.
I will be looking at The Gift's other offerings. Russell Whyman
